I'm all for breaking the rules, especially if those rules are applied to fashion. I say wear what ever makes you feel good. It's Summer and I'm wearing a pantsuit made mostly out of Polyester. Polyester doesn't breath at all, but I like the way I feel in this outfit so I will put up with the droplets of sweat running down my back.
