Red Pleather Jacket

Jacket: Forever21
Bodysuit: American Apparel
Pants: American Apparel
Scarf: Thrifted
Boots: Frye

Rainy Days call for layers that can be taken on or off depending on the unpredictable California forecasts. It can be raining in the morning and warm as heck in the afternoon. Layers mean that you are prepared for what ever the day may throw at you. The Sun didn't come out today and it was rather wet for the most part. I had my first hydroplaning incident as well. Scary stuff! Best thing to learn from that is to not lay on the breaks. It only makes you skid across the gravel like a rookie ice skater on an ice rink for the first time. It also leaves that smell of burnt rubber in your car.

Found this jacket at Forever 21. I really like it, its comfortable, lightweight, and has a bold color that doesn't fade. It especially holds up in the rain. I was surprised because usually when my pleather gets wet it starts to leave water stains. That happened with a red purse that I had for ages.

*Unwrap paper towel slightly and heat for 1-2 minutes in the Morning.

Wish you had more time in the morning? Having a prepared breakfast gives you time to enjoy your coffee and the news.  This Breakfast sandwich is such a quick and easy meal for those, on the go mornings. I would store up to seven in the freezer, enough for the week. I can't wait to try other recipes for freezable breakfasts.

Boyfriend Shorts

 Top: Forever 21
Vest: Forever 21
Belt: Tilly's
Shorts: Forever 21(Mens Department)
 Boots: Jessica Simpson

When in doubt and you want to dress a little funky, grab something from menswear. I love playing up a piece that was designed for a man. Women can wear boys clothes! If your grabbing something out of your boyfriend's closet you most likely will need a belt, otherwise your crack may show.

Skirt: American Apparel
Knee Highs: Hot Topic
Boots: Magras

I never really have experienced the madness of Black Friday. Usually I avoid stores all together. I prefer to stay in and eat left overs from Thanksgiving. This Black Friday I got a new camera from Tuttle Cameras in North Long Beach, a Nikon D3100 to be exact. Here are some of the cameras first photos.

Snake Leopard

Cashmere Sweater: Thrifted
Belt: Thrifted
Shorts: American Apparel
Boots: Jessica Simpson

Mixing Prints again Snake on Leopard this time, but besides that let me tell you about the high light of my week. Was lucky to work backstage at a Rachel Zoe Spring 2013 Fashion Show on Thursday at the Neiman Marcus in Beverly Hills. The event was a private party for American Express. The guests included many stylish girls. Rachel was wearing all black including black stripper heals and a gorgeous sequin top. Her black jacket was propped over her shoulders in the most effortless way. She is GORGEOUS!! She is such a fashion rock-star it is insane. She talked about her humble beginnings where she was a Psych major at George Washington University. She mentioned her first job as a Fashion Assistant at YM Magazine and how she started her freelance career as a stylist at the ripe age of 25.  Rachel mentioned her new love affair for design. I respect her design ethic because she mentioned that her sole desire is to produce a fashion line for all women that want to look fabulous.  Rachel has pieces for a woman of every age. Rachel also brought up how she has come across a whole new joy in life her son, Skylar. I am just glad I had the opportunity to listen to her speak she is so inspiring and her energy is as copious as we know her closet is.

DIY- Pleather Vest

I saw this pleather jacket at Target about a year ago and had to have it. At the time the Target that was closest to me didn't have an XS and I'm not usually an extra small because I'm a curvy girl, but anyhow this style and fit called for that size for me. I drove near and far for this jacket and ended up in El Monte just so I could get my hands on this baby. As time went by I thought well gee this jacket doesn't look as cute as I thought it did. It fit too bulky and the sleeves were too long. So I thought its time to cut this sucker up and make a vest and I'm glad I did because It looks and fits a lot better with out the arms. I have plans to make long gloves out of the sleeves too. Stay tuned...

Directions:
Step 1: Get an old jacket (pleather, leather, or any unique fabric)

Step 2: Lay it out flat and cut the sleeves off with large fabric shears. I would cut about an inch from the armhole. So it is easier to whip stitch later.

Step 3: Fold your armhole fabric inwards and pin around the armhole. Make sure the interlining is under the leather so it looks nice and neat.

Step 4: Now whip stitch or hand sew around the arm hole where your pins are so that the seams look clean.
